Event Details:

Bring your sense of wonder to our “Baby Steps” class - a supportive space for parents to learn how to weave outdoor enjoyment into your family’s culture with even the littlest babies. Each week blends philisophical and evidence-based discussion (your “why” of wanting to spend time outdoors, benefits of being outdoors, creating a family culture that includes nature) and practical tips of getting outside (dressing for the weather, reading baby’s cues, finding nearby nature, how to time outings).

Each class in the 4-week series will take place in a different outdoor location in the triangle - giving you practice getting you and baby into the outdoors each week. You will walk away from the series with new friends and a personalized family nature plan to carry you through early babyhood and beyond. Whether you’re new to the outdoors yourself or already an outdoor-lover looking to incorporate your newest family member, this series is for you.

This is not your typical “baby and me” with stories, music, movement routines, etc. This is a parent class, with babies invited to tag along. While you engage in discussion your baby can look at the trees, crunch leaves, mouth a giant rock, relax on a blanket, nap, eat, play with toys on a blanket, bounce on your knee, etc. No need to leave the discussion if baby is fussy, needs to eat, or is due for a diaper change - we are all parents and would rather have you stay connected with us while also tending to baby’s needs.
