Date and Time: Thursday, November 13th 1:30pm-3:30pm

Location: Prairie Ridge Ecostation
Address:
1671 Gold Star Drive, Raleigh, NC 27607

For: Children of all ages and their adults

Facilitator: Kelly, Parenting Off The Beaten Path Founder

Event Details:
Join us at Prairie Ridge Ecostation in the Nature Playspace.

For this meetup we will use all our time to enjoy the playspace at the Ecostation. The Nature Playspace is located approximately 0.3 miles from the parking lot and can be accessed via a mulched path. Babies, toddlers, and big kids of all ages can find something to do in the playspace which includes a large sandy dig pit, a tunnel, a small climbing wall, a small inground slide, a mud kitchen, a small pup tent, a ball ramp system, and lots of moveable stumps, large tree branches, and other natural materials.

(Note: The Ecostation closes promply at 4:00pm. Our meetup will wrap up around 3:30pm to give everyone time to use the bathroom, walk back to cars, etc before closing time out of courtesy to the staff.)

These come-as-you-are Nature Meetups are designed to give kids and their adults minimally-structured time in nature to play, explore, and connect. Our objective is to support all families in expanding their child’s experiences in nature.

What to bring:

  • Change of clothes in case kids get dirty/wet

  • Adults may want to bring something to sit on (towel, picnic blanket, camp chair)

  • Snacks/lunch, water

  • No need to bring bags of toys.

How to find us:
Park anywhere you can find a spot, then head towards the open field area behind the gate. You will pass by a small trailer on your left. Head down the mulch path right next to the trailer. Keep left at the fork to continue directly to the playspace. (Need to use the bathroom first? Use the gravel trail instead and head to the Outdoor Classroom, then go beyond the classroom and turn left down into the playspace). You will find us anywhere/all over the play area - ask around for Kelly to connect with us!

Weather:
Check back here for any event updates or cancellation notices.

Registration:
Registation is not required for this event - however it always helps us to know roughly how many people to expect and to know which events are more or less popular for future planning. Registration also ensures you will get an email reminder and an email update if anything about the event changes due to weather/other circumstances.
